Management de projet

Le Management de projet est un domaine d'activité dont l'importance ne cesse de croître. En tant que chercheur.e.s, vous serez certainement amené un jour à gérer un projet, dans le monde académique ou non. Il est donc important pour vous d'acquérir des outils qui vous préparent à cette tâche exigeante qu'est le management de projet.

Durant les deux jours, les sujets traités sont les suivants :

A la fin de ce cours, les participant.e.s seront en mesure notamment de :

  • Connaître les caractéristiques d'un projet
  • Apprécier l'impact de l'organisation de l'entreprise sur le projet
  • Connaître les relations entre le cycle de vie d'un produit et le cycle de vie d'un projet
  • Identifier les parties prenantes
  • Déterminer les objectifs du projet
  • Etablir une charte de projet
  • Connaître les processus du management de projet
  • Identifier les rôles et responsabilités des parties prenantes
  • Identifier le périmètre du projet et ses livrables
  • Savoir découper un projet en phases
  • Etablir un diagramme en réseau des activités
  • Etablir l'échéancier et positionner les jalons
  • Connaître la présentation selon Gantt
  • Apprécier les aspects de la communication

Préparation pour l'activité: Les participant.e.s seront demandé.e.s de fournir à l'intervenant quelques informations clés sur leur projet avant le début de l'activité. Un questionnaire à cet effet sera envoyé aux personnes inscrites dans les dernières semaines avant la date du début du cours.

Communiquer ses recherches

Engage, Inform, Inspire. Public Speaking Training for Scientists

The workshop will include 2 full days separated by a week.

On the first day each participant will give a brief (3-5 minute) presentation of their work. The rest of the first day will focus on the preparation of a talk: how to structure the ideas, which examples and metaphors to use, how to design visual supports.

The second day will focus on the delivery of the talk. How to hook and keep an audience? How to be engaging in both voice and body language?

The workshop will close with the participants presenting their revised talk in front of a camera. Participants will receive feedback from the trainer and from their audience throughout both days. This workshop is very interactive, with a large collection of activities leading the participants to improve their talks and their presentation skills.

Preparation: participants are requested to bring a brief (3-5 minute) of their work, with slides.

Using online networks to develop your research career

Research has a long tradition of being shared and developed through papers, meetings, conferences and conversations. Sharing research online is rapidly becoming part of the same process and is no different once you know how it is done. Whether in an academic or a non-academic research career, when you share on the various platforms you integrate into your daily workflows, you create new possibilities for research, collaborative partnerships and career opportunities.

Format

This workshop will be held in two parts: at our first meeting, we will discuss how we can communicate our research and build our networks online. How do we choose the right online platform, and what do we do with it once we get there? This will provide participants with the framework with which to review and develop their online profiles before the second session. In the second session, we will work in small groups to feedback on each other's profiles and to build on what we learn.

Prerequisite

Participants must have an active profile on at least one networking site such as Twitter, Linked-in, academia.edu or ResearchGate as well as knowledge of other online platforms of relevance to your research.

Financement et mobilité

Comment financer ma recherche de doctorat ou mon postdoc?

Cet atelier présente les outils et les bases de données permettant aux doctorant·e·s et aux post-docs de cibler des opportunités de financer leurs carrières ou des projets indépendants en Suisse ou à l’étranger.

La présentation est suivie d’une partie pratique permettant à chacune et chacun d’effectuer des recherches sur ces outils et de bénéficier de conseils pour mieux sélectionner les offres disponibles. Il faut donc se munir de son ordinateur et réfléchir au préalable à quelques mots clés qui définissent sa recherche.

Leadership

Leadership in academia and beyond

This workshop gives PhD candidates and postdocs insights into the knowledge, skills and attitudes they need in order to be successful in a leadership role. The aim of this workshop is to enable participants to have an awareness of five leadership theories to help them develop their own leadership style as a new leader as well as an understanding of communication styles and what a successful work environment is like and how to help create the environment in which they want to work.

New leaders need to understand the difference between managing and leading. They need to understand what it means to be a leader, how to lead others, how to identify the key people in their circle of influence and how to build successful, supportive relationships. Scientists also need to acquire the knowledge and skills to be able to recognize, accommodate and apply a range of communication strategies in order to work with others most effectively.

This workshop is very practical and each individual will be supported through a period of reflection and will be encouraged to create an action plan that they can use to facilitate the transition to their new role.

Preparation: Think about two contrasting leaders from your experience or from history, public or private, and how you would compare and contrast them as to how they showed up differently as leaders. We will talk about this as a group.
