For SEMP interns
European students can make an internship in Switzerland, even if Switzerland does not participate in Erasmus+ any more. Interns receive a scholarship financed by the Swiss government through the Swiss-European Mobilty Programme (SEMP).

Students wishing to come to UNIL for an internship must be affiliated to an institution that has obtained the Erasmus+ charter.

Students wishing to come to UNIL for an internship must be affiliated to a partner institution of UNIL, i.e. with which UNIL has signed a student mobility agreement.

Incoming trainees must complete their internship before obtaining the degree for which they are doing the internship at their home university.

Incoming trainees must be in their first (Bachelor) or second (Master) cycle of study only at their home university. Postgraduate trainees (PhD) are not eligible for a SEMP scholarship.
- You must find an internship (paid or not) in a UNIL department. The minimal duration is 2 months (3 months for a clinical internship).
- Complete the "Training agreement" form (see in margin) in collaboration with your academic counsellor at your home university, and the UNIL department offering the internship. Return the form with your signature at the UNIL Office for Social Affairs and Student Mobility (SASME, address in margin). Beware: the award of a scholarship (CHF 440.- per month for a student from a university participating in the Erasmus+ programme (EU/EFTA); CHF 500.- per month for a student from a non-EU/EFTA university) depends on the available funds and cannot be guaranteed. Scholarships are awarded on a first come first serve basis.
- Complete the "Insurance declaration" form (see in margin) and return it to SASME.
- SASME will give you a "Scholarship contract". The contract must be signed and returned to SASME. The "Insurance declaration" form must be handed back to SASME at that moment at the latest.
- The form "Final report" will be provided by SASME.
- The UNIL department providing the internship will provide and internship certificate at the end of your stay.
